SUMMARY
With the rapid development of information technologies, various methods of communication and the increasing role of information in society of XXI century, mediatexts acquires special significance. Moreover, the issue of language usage in media nowadays is the most actual one, because submission of incorrect information in the text, unprofessionalism and incompetence of journalists, unfair work with facts can cause the conflict between authors of articles and readership. In addition, in the future this may cause a legal action. Linguist expert should know many branches of philology and general legal expertise to deliver scientifically justified and reasoned opinion on the matter.
The topicality of chosen theme is determined by the necessity of creating of effective methodology of linguostylistic analysis of news texts in English editions for the presence of conflict content.
The aim of master’s work is elaboration of general model of linguistic expertise of conflict English mediatexts of news character based on systematic identification of conflict content in them.
The achievement of the aims’ set presupposes the fulfillment of following tasks:
- to specify the theoretical principles of study the concepts of «mediatext» and «media discourse»;
- to present the main characteristics of news mediatext's nature;
- to consider mediatekst as the object of law linguistics;
- to clarify the definition of news mediatext as one of the types of conflict ones;
- to develop a methodology of linguistic expertise of conflict news mediatexts;
- to characterize the features of news material nature of the newspaper «The Guardian» on all language levels - phonetic, lexical, morphological, syntactic;
- to conduct a linguistic expertise of texts of selected news texts «The Guardian» and determine the presence of conflict factors.
The object of study are news mediatexts of quality British press, including publications of «The Guardian» for 2016 (electronic version).
The subject of analysis are linguistic features of conflict news texts - phonetic, lexical, morphological, syntactic and stylistic, which directly appears as «genes» of the conflict.
The material for analysis study served as sample news texts on amount of 3 copies of various subjects from British editions of newspaper «The Guardian», published in 2016 year.
In the process of research following methods were used: contextual analysis, stylistic analysis; analytical method of dictionary meanings of words; component analysis of elements. Descriptive method was used to describe findings of linguistic expertise. Using of method of quantitative approaches took us a possibility to name the conflict content of mediatexts (both external and internal).
The scientific novelty of achieved results consists in first comprehensive analysis of English news mediatexts on all degrees, establishing ofavailability of conflict content with semantic tags «appeal to incitement of national hostility», «humiliation of national dignity», «humiliation of honor, dignity and business reputation», and elaboration of methodology of linguistic expertise of conflict English news mediatexts.
The practical value of achieved results consists in possibility of their application in different linguistic and legal disciplines (eõ., «Lexicology of English language», «Stylistics of English», «Language of Media», «Cognitive Linguistics», «Functional stylistics», «Medialinguistics» «Legal Linguistics», «Fundamentals of forensic expertise» and «Fundamentals of linguistic expertise». The worked out material can be also used in the process of writing of scientific articles, terms, diplomas and other qualification papers, and also as additional material within implementation of judicial linguistic inspections by expert witnesses, advocates, procurators and judges.
Approbation of research results. The main results of investigation were presented in reports on student scientific conference «Science and Education – 2016» of National Pedagogical Dragomanov University during the breakout sessions of Department of General linguistics and Germanic studies.
The structure of the research. The Master’s paper consists of introduction, two chapters with conclusions to each of them, general conclusions and references (120 positions, 21 of which are foreign language sources), list of lexicographic sources and also a list of illustration material sources.
In introduction the relevance of graduate study is characterized, the topicality of master’s work, an object, subject, purpose and objectives of the study, methods of analysis, scientific novelty of results, practical value of work, materials of research and its structure are revealed.
Chapter 1 determines theoretical and methodological principles of study of lingiustic expertise of English news mediatexts based on quality British press materials.
Chapter 2 is devoted for analysis of sample conflict English news mediatexts of quality British press (in particular, phonetic, lexical, morphological and syntactic characteristics of conflict content) based on elaborated comprehensive methodology of linguistic expertise.
The conclusions reveal research results based on theoretical and practical sections.
