INTRODUCTION Realias are elements of everyday life and culture of the historical period and the social system, the state system and folklore. The problem of translating realias from language to language is not new and it has been actively discussed for several decades. There is no such word that could not be translated into another language at least describing, that is, a common combination of words in a given language. The main task of literary translation is to create a similar work capable of exerting the same artistic and aesthetic effect as the original text. It follows that translation is one of the forms of existence of a literary work, because every reader perceives it as an original. And, since realia is part of the original literary text, its transfer to the translation text is one of the conditions for the translation adequacy [7:23]. The topicality of this work is caused by the need for a more detailed study of realia in fiction and their translation, since they reflect the essence of the culture of the nation. In modern times of globalization and expansion of borders, understanding of each other and tolerance have become necessary things. This can be achieved only by knowledge and understanding of the people's mentality, and such information is often provided in fiction literature and rendered by language units - realia. The translator must be able to recognize realias and translate them so that they are understandable in the culture of the target language. The choice of translation method depends on several factors: from the nature of the text and its genre features; from significance, degrees of semantic load of realia in context; from the features of the source language and the target language; from the linguistic and regional level of reader training. The choice of a particular technique during the translation of realia directly depends on the task that the translator faces: to preserve the color of the language unit or to convey the value of realia [8:78]. The problem of translating realias still remains one of the key ones for translation studies. Translation of such lexical units are often difficult for translators because the explanation is correct such lexemes need to go beyond the text. Translation experts disagree about ways and methods of   reproducing realias in translations, including fiction discourse [1:67]. The topicality of this work is determined by the fact that the question of the linguistic realias nature in fiction texts and the means used to translate them is not well understood. The theoretical and methodological basis of this study was the work of such researchers as I. S. Alekseeva, L. S. Barkhudarov, E. M. Vereshchagin, V. S. Vinogradov, S. Vlakhov, V. N. Komissarov, V. S. Slepovich, G. D. Tomakhin.
