Currently, there are about 200 countries. Each state has its own national traditions and historical features, which effects on the content and form of organization of government. Theoretical science identifies and explores general patterns of occurrence and development of various social phenomenons and processes. It appeals to their most typical properties and forms of government. The form of government is a way of organization of the structure and relationships of all state authorities and their direct and feedback connections with the population. The form of government represents a structure the highest bodies of state power, the order of their formation and distribution of competences between them. The theme of this course work is a "forms of government." This topic is vital, it is important for understanding the changes which are taking place in the modern world. Form of government is an immediate expression and carrier of its essence and content. Relevant aspect of studying is to identify the most appropriate form of government: when all decisions are taken behind closed doors, although quickly, by the ruling group or where the most important political decisions are made by representatives of citizens during long-term agreement. For a long time two questions have been in the spotlight: 1) what forms of government exist, 2) which form of government is the best for that time in that country. Forms of government were studied by a lot of famous scientists such as Vengerov A., Marchenko M., Lazarev V., Matuzova N. and Malko A. and other well-known legal scholars. These authors studied in detail issues concerning forms of government. The object of the work is a system of social relations that constitutes the different forms of government. The subject of the work is the essence of the structure and types of forms of government. The aim is the legal analysis of forms of government. To achieve this goal it is necessary to solve the following problems: - To explore the concept of form state and its structure; - To explore the form of government as an element of the form of the state; - To analyze the concept, features and varieties of monarchies; - To analyze the concept, features and varieties of republic; - To characterize the form of government of Ukraine. This course work consists of introduction, four chapters, conclusion and list of references.
